Strolling at night in the streets of Berlin … Some years ago Kyriakos Xymitiris was among our lines. He returned to Athens.

We are still strolling at night in the streets of Berlin and in the early hours of March 17, Kyriakos was still with us. When we arrived at Bayerischer Platz in Berlin-Schöneberg, in front of the office of FERCHAU Aviation Group.

FERCHAU is a service company for IT-Engineering and it offers technical solutions to Bundeswehr (German Armed Forces) and other military defence industries in Europe. FERCHAU claim, that they are „Connecting People and Technologies for the Next Level“. They in fact develop products and systems for the machine of war, like „Legacy Transformation, Cyber-Security, Model Based Systems Engineering, Extended Reality and Data Analytics“. They do recruitment events with Bundeswehr to hire specialists for the drone war and they send specialists to maintain the Eurofighter Squadrons of NATO Air Force.

We sprayed WAR STARTS HERE on the wall of their office building and we broke the entrance area, glass doors, windows with hammers.

This small action is not much more than an intervention in the routine of a society waging war. Nevertheless we want to refer to the text „Developing incisive capacity making actions count“ from comrades from Atlanta, that proposes a discussion about mapping the industry of war, identify and sabotaging specific chokepoints in the chain of production and logistics of war. With FERCHAU we thought about finding one of these technological chokepoints with a company developing specialized technical IT and Network products. We do not believe that symbolic actions are enough to defeat our oppressors, but they contribute to the creation of a movement from below.

Enemies like FERCHAU deliver the know how, the technical solutions and the human forces, which are important for the airstrikes in Gaza, Yemen, Sudan, Syria … which cut people in pieces every day.

To fight against these wars and take a position in the social and class war, was the decision of Kyriakos. With this action we keep his memory.
